Designed and manufactured in Scotland, Sands allows your colony to create its own natural network of tunnels and chambers. With an integrated outworld, adjustable hydration and Bluetooth climate monitoring, it provides an engaging habitat for beginners and experienced ant keepers alike.

Key Features

Natural Sand Nesting Area
Fill the nesting chamber using the included sand and funnel, allowing your ants to excavate their own tunnels and chambers. This creates a unique habitat that develops naturally as the colony grows.

Versatile Filling and Hydration Port
The top port makes adding sand quick and straightforward. Once filled, it can be converted into a humidity tower using an inverted test tube and cotton wool, helping maintain moisture within the sand and support tunnel stability.

Integrated Outworld
The built-in outworld gives your ants a secure area for feeding, foraging and exploring. Its removable lid provides convenient access for feeding and maintenance.

Test Tube Connection
Connect your colony’s test tube to the side port and allow the ants to move into their new habitat naturally, at their own pace.

Sliding Red Acrylic Cover
The nesting area includes a sliding red acrylic cover that helps recreate the darker subterranean conditions ants naturally prefer. Slide it aside whenever you want to observe the colony.

Bluetooth Climate Monitoring
The integrated Bluetooth temperature and humidity meter allows you to check conditions inside the nesting area from your phone without disturbing your ants.

Durable Construction
Sands is precision 3D printed using high-quality materials and assembled in Scotland. The clear acrylic front provides an excellent view of the colony as it constructs its nest.

Bluetooth Setup

The hygrometer connects to the Xiaomi Home app.

After installing the app, enable Bluetooth and search for nearby devices. Select the hygrometer when it appears to view temperature and humidity readings while your phone is within Bluetooth range.
